2 people and a dog killed after crash involving UPS truck in Melbourne, police say

MELBOURNE, Fla. — Two people and a dog were killed in a violent crash Saturday afternoon, according to Melbourne police.

Officers said the crash occurred around 3:25 p.m. near the intersection of South Harbor City Boulevard and East New Haven Avenue.

Several vehicles were involved in the crash including a UPS delivery truck, a black mini van and a silver car.

When crews arrived, they found the silver car severely damaged and wedged under the front of the UPS delivery truck.

The crash shut down part the roadway for several hours.

Officers have not confirmed the identity of the victims who died in the crash.

A UPS worker, possibly the driver, was seen being loaded into the back of an ambulance.
