Brevard County deputies investigating death of 2-month-old baby

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Brevard County deputies said Wednesday that they are investigating the death of a 2-month-old baby in Merritt Island.

Deputies said the baby’s mother called 911 to say her child wasn’t breathing.

The baby was pronounced dead when investigators arrived at the home on Palmetto Avenue.

Deputies said the infant was taken to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy was conducted.

“The investigation is ongoing as agents are awaiting the final medical results and examining evidence to determine the circumstances that led to the death,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
