MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. — Brevard County officials honored the first responders who helped save two young victims after a lightning strike.
Channel 9 first reported on the girls being struck by lightning in June.
They were shocked while playing outside their home on Merritt Island.
After they were hurt, a friend called 911.
The dispatcher told her how to administer CPR before deputies arrived.
Three months later, the girls have recovered from that traumatic incident.
They said they are happy and thankful to see the first responders who helped save their lives.
