Brevard County offers food vouchers, free admission to zoo to promote COVID-19 vaccinations

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Brevard County is offering incentives for residents who get their first COVID-19 vaccine.

Health officials are offering $10 food vouchers for those who get their first COVID-19 vaccination at Health Department Clinics in Viera, Titusville and Melbourne.

Parents will also receive a food voucher when children 12 and older receive their first COVID-19 vaccination.

Officials said people can redeem the food vouchers at large area grocery chains like Publix, Winn-Dixie, Albertsons, Food Lion and Save A Lot.

There are also two other vaccine events in Merritt Island and at the Brevard Zoo.

On Wednesday, residents can get a COVID-19 vaccine at the Merritt Island Pancake House. Those who get a vaccine will get a free meal with purchase of a drink. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There will be a vaccine event at the Brevard Zoo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those who receive a vaccine will get free admission.
