The chick is the product of the first eggs laid by the zoo’s flamingo flock.

On Sept. 3, the zoo said the chick hatched to mom Zinnia and dad Sneaky, who’s been a member of the zoo’s flock since 1994.

The zoo said it still has other eggs being incubated, so more babies may be on their way.

Zoo officials said chicks can start leaving their nest as young as 3 days old, and they’ll slowly start to expand their boundaries and explore the area around them.

The babies are initially gray, changing to pink slowly over their first few years.
