KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. — Florida’s Space Coast has seen several SpaceX launches for the company’s Starlink mission.
But now the federal government has denied a bid from SpaceX for nearly $1 billion.
The money was supposed to help Starlink create higher-speed internet access to people in rural America.
The Federal Communications Commission said SpaceX has failed to demonstrate that it can deliver that service.
The FCC chairman said the company’s technology had real promise, but it is still developing.
