Police release 911 calls of frantic scene following deadly shooting at Melbourne bar

MELBOURNE, Fla. — An investigation is underway in Melbourne after police said someone shot two people inside a sports bar, killing one of them.

The deadly shooting happened on Sunday at 1:10 a.m. at Off the Traxx on New Haven Avenue.

When officers arrived, they located two victims inside the business.

According to police, the male victim, 34-year-old Alain Noel of Palm Bay, was found unconscious. He was transported to the hospital where he was later declared dead.

The female victim, a bar employee, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

At the time of the shooting, Off the Traxx was reported to be near capacity at nearly 350 patrons, police said.

On Monday, police said they are hopeful that one of them may have information that will help them locate a suspect.

According to police, they are pouring over more than two hours of surveillance video from inside Off the Traxx for information that would lead to finding the shooter.

Melbourne police told Channel 9 that they are working to identify multiple people of interest in the investigation.

Police also released three 911 calls from Sunday’s shooting.

The 911 calls revealed how frantic the scene was after the gunfire erupted inside the bar.
