Bomb threat prompts evacuation at Brevard County school

MELBOURNE, Fla. — A shelter-in-place order was issued Friday at a Brevard County school after a reported bomb threat.

School officials said West Shore Junior/Senior High School is being evacuated to a designated safety zone out of an abundance of caution.

Law enforcement has also been called in to sweep the campus.

This is the second threat to a Brevard County school on Friday. Cocoa High School was also closed Friday morning after a threat from a parent was called into the school.

School officials are asking people to not come to the school at this time.

“We must keep the building clear and allow our law enforcement partners to complete their investigation,” officials said.

Officials said all students and staff are accounted for and safe.
