Investigators said a student notified a school resource officer Friday of a rumor that Keith Bakari Ivey II had had sex with a 17-year-old female student.

When detectives interviewed the victim, she told them she had a “relationship” with a teacher and had “done stuff” with him but had not had sex with him, an arrest report said.

On Monday, the girl told a deputy that she wanted to talk to him about information she had not previously disclosed, the report said.

Investigators said the victim told them she had been visiting Ivey for help with AP work and other schoolwork.

“The victim then joked with the teacher one day about what if they ‘messed around,’” the report said. “The teacher then shut down the conversation.”

She told them Ivey approached her a week later and asked her about “messing around,” the report said.

On Feb. 17, the two entered a storage closet in Ivey’s classroom, and the girl performed oral sex on Ivey while he was seated in a spinning chair, the victim said in the report.

The teacher then told the victim, “It was magic,” she told detectives.

The victim only communicated with Ivey at school, never by phone or through social media, she told investigators.

Ivey, who is also a baseball coach at the school, was charged with solicitation of a child under 18 years of age by a person in custodial authority.

He will also likely be charged with sexual battery of a child later Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office said.
