Coronavirus: Where COVID-19 testing is available in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — Feeling feverish or like it’s hard to catch your breath? Did a coworker test positive for COVID-19 and now you’re worried you might have it, too?

New COVID-19 testing sites seem to be opening weekly across Central Florida. Channel 9 compiled a list of testing sites, as well as the criteria for testing at each location.

“Coronavirus

Seminole County

Florida Department of Health in Seminole will offer COVID-19 curbside testing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 400 W. Airport Blvd. in Sanford. There is no age requirement for testing at this site, but a parent/guardian must be present for children to be tested. Test results are expected five to seven days after the specimen is collected. There is no co-pay or cost for testing regardless of insurance status. Appointments are required; call 407-665-3000 or click here to make an appointment.

Walk-up testing:

The State of Florida is offering a walk-up, outdoor COVID-19 test site located in the Oviedo Home Depot parking lot, beginning Thursday, July 16, 2020. Patients should park, then approach the tent for testing.

  • ADDRESS: Home Depot, 1900 West SR 426, Oviedo
  • WHEN: Daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • COST: No co-pay, no charge regardless of insurance status
  • APPOINTMENTS: No appointments required or available
  • AGES: 18 and older; no pediatric tests available
  • REQUIREMENTS: Patients must present identification, no symptoms required
  • CAPACITY: Capacity to test up to 400 patients per day

Antibody testing:

Seminole County has partnered with OneBlood to offer temporary Big Red Bus blood donation sites throughout the County. Appointments are required; visit PrepareSeminole.org or OneBlood.org.

Orange County

Regional drive-thru testing site at the Orange County Convention Center: Testing is available on a first-come, first-served basis until the daily limit is reached. No appointments are necessary. Testing opens daily at 9 a.m. and is available for all Central Florida residents and visitors free of charge.

Beginning July 17, the Convention Center will also offer self-swab lanes for symptomatic individuals. The pilot program is aimed at helping reduce wait times and expedite test results. These individuals will receive results within 72 hours. Click here for information on how to make an appointment.

Drive-thru testing is also available for those exhibiting symptoms of the virus, as well as all healthcare providers and first responders in the Orlando community. Testing is available in the Walmart parking lot on 5991 Goldenrod Road Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. by appointment only. Click here to make an appointment.

Orange County health officials will also offer free testing at Barnett Park. The testing will take place Monday through Friday and will resume July 20 through July 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Officials said appointments are required. To make an appointment, click here.

On Monday, July 27, Orange County Health Services will open a free, drive-through testing location at Econ Soccer Complex, located at 8035 Yates Road, Orlando, FL 32817. The site will operate July 27 through Friday, July 31, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. This location will provide up to 750 tests a day. Orlando

The city of Orlando is offering free pop-up testing for city residents at different locations in the city every Wednesday. The next testing site will be Wednesday, July 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lake Nona Middle School, 13700 Narcoossee Road, Orlando, FL 32832. Appointments are necessary. LAKE COUNTY

The Florida of Heath Department in Lake County is now offering free COVID-19 testing beginning at 9 a.m. Monday through Friday while test kits are available. No testing criteria is required, and testing is available to everyone, including children. No appointment is necessary:

July 14 until further notice:

  • Lake-Sumter State College, 9501 U.S. Highway 441, Leesburg
  • South Lake High School 15600 Silver Eagle Rd., Groveland

If you have questions, please call the Florida Department of Health hotline in Lake County at (352) 742-4830. The hotline is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additionally, the 24/7 COVID-19 Florida state call center is available at 1-866-779-6121.

Adult Medicine of Lake County is now offering COVID-19 testing Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lake Square Mall with antibody testing only available on Thursdays. Testing is $20. Testing is also available by appointment only at the Adult Medicine of Lake County Office in Mount Dora. To make an appointment, please call 352-329-1133. No symptoms are required.

OSCEOLA COUNTY

COVID-19 testing is available at the following locations throughout Osceola County:

  • Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Prescriptions Unlimited, 2521 13th Street, Suite A, St. Cloud. Appointments are required. Testing is available to those 18 years and older. There are no symptom criteria for testing. Call 689-210-2080 to schedule an appointment.

  • Through a partnership with Walmart, Quest Diagnostics and Osceola County, drive-through testing is available at the Walmart Supercenter at 3250 Vineland Rd. Kissimmee, FL 34746. The site is open, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Testing will be no cost at this location, and is for adults who meet CDC and state and local guidelines on who should be tested, including first responders, health care providers and others with symptoms of COVID-19 and those in high risk groups without symptoms. VOLUSIA COUNTY

Testing for COVID-19 is available at the following locations:

Health care facilities

  • AdventHealth CentraCare facilities.
  • Beginning May 1, Jena Medical Group in Orange City is offering a rapid finger prick test, which test antiobdies to see if someone has the virus, has had the virus or has not contracted the virus. To make an appointment, which is required, call 386-774-1881. All major insurances are accepted, and those without insurance will be charged $51.

Drive-through/Walk-up

CVS Health is offering self-swab tests to individuals meeting CDC criteria. Testing must be scheduled online, and will take place through the pharmacy drive-thru window at the following locations:

  • CVS Pharmacy, 101 South Ridgewood Avenue, Daytona Beach 32114
  • CVS Pharmacy, 250 East Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach 32176
  • CVS Pharmacy, 901 North Woodland Blvd, DeLand 32720

The state is offering a COVID-19 “pop up” test site at Publix, 2100 Saxon Blvd., Deltona. The site will administer 100 tests per day.

BREVARD COUNTY

Florida Department of Health: North, Central & South Brevard Locations

  • Any symptomatic individual who has a fever of 100.4+, and a cough, and shortness of breath.

Across Brevard, OMNI Healthcare is on the front line in the battle against COVID-19. They currently, have three locations for free COVID-19 swab testing and immunity testing. Everyone is now eligible for testing and the test is provided without charge to the individual. There will be no co-pay, no deductible, and no cost to the uninsured. Appointments can be made by calling (321) 802-5515 or emailing covid@omnihealthcare.com. Testing locations include:

SUMTER COUNTY

The Sumter County Health Department has COVID-19 virus testing available at the health department. Interested community members can call 352-569-3102 to make an appointment for testing. No COVID-19 symptoms are required to be tested. This testing is performed curbside, so the individual being tested never has to leave their vehicle. Photo identification is required. No insurance is necessary, and the test is free.

MARION COUNTY

DOH-Marion offers COVID-19 testing to individuals who would like to be tested for the virus, regardless of whether the person is experiencing symptoms. Individuals who are experiencing symptoms and other higher risk persons have priority for testing slots.

Testing is by appointment only; call the DOH-Marion COVID-19 Call Center at 352-644-2590 to be scheduled for a COVID-19 test. Testing will be held at DOH-Marion Ocala office at 1801 SE 32nd Ave.

FLAGLER COUNTY

There are multiple options for COVID-19 testing available in Flagler County. Please contact each location directly to ask questions or make an appointment.

Florida Department of Health in Flagler: 301 Dr. Carter Blvd, Bunnell; Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 386-437-7350 for more information and to make an appointment.
