COVID-19 positivity rate slightly higher in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The 14-day rolling positivity rate continues to move slightly higher in Orange County.

The health department said the rate is now at 8.4%.

It’s up from 8% on Monday.

Doctors said a rate under 5% means the virus is under control.

Meanwhile, the nationwide coronavirus death toll is nearing the 1 million mark more than two years after the United States logged its first laboratory-confirmed case in January 2020.

Nearly 510 million coronavirus cases and more than 6.2 million deaths have been reported globally over the course of the pandemic, according to Johns Hopkins University.
