DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The producer of one of the most popular radio shows in Daytona Beach bonded out of jail Friday after being accused of possessing child porn.
Chand Worob, from WNDB 1150, was booked on 20 felony counts of possessing and distributing roughly 500 images of child porn.
Worob had nothing to say as he climbed into a waiting SUV as he left the Volusia County Jail after posting $200,000 bond.
"Thoroughly disgusting is the best way to describe it," said Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood. "Some of them (were) extremely graphic. Children as young as 5 and 6 years old."
The 25-year-old Worob had just finished producing the Marc Bernier Show when he was arrested. He would not speak to WFTV as he was led away to jail in handcuffs.
On Friday, the station announced Worob's termination and issued a statement that partially read, "We are disappointed with this news, and the entire WNDB staff was as shocked as the rest of the community. We are cooperating fully with law enforcement."
"The investigation with us has been ongoing for a while. We just developed enough probable cause in the early part of this week to get a search warrant," Chitwood said.
Worob did not made many statements to police except when confronted with the images. Detectives said he told them he had the pictures by accident. He had been under investigation since October.
Investigators don’t believe Worob used any radio station computers to download the child porn.
