Body found in woods in Osceola County identified

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Osceola County said they are investigating after a man found a decomposing body in a wooded area in Kissimmee Friday night.

According to deputies, the body of 21-year old Javier-Enrique-Rodriguez-Garcia was found on a private property on the 2000 block of Boggy Creek Road. The property's caretaker was mowing the lawn around 8:30 p.m. when he made the discovery, investigators said.

"He told deputies that he had smelled an odor and he went further into the wooded area and that's when he discovered the partially decomposed body," Twis Lizasuain with the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies said an autopsy will be done by the Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause of death.

Just a few blocks from where the body was found, a flyer was posted asking for the public's help finding Garcia, who was reported missing on July 25 and lived nearby, according to deputies.
