Update: Man dies after shooting in unincorporated Cocoa, sheriff’s office says

COCOA, Fla. — A man has died after a shooting in unincorporated Cocoa, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies said they were called to a death investigation on Fern Street around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to a news release, when deputies arrived at the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound.

The sheriff’s office said the man was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

Investigators are conducting interviews of potential witnesses but said they would not release the victim’s name, and no suspect has been arrested.

Deputies said that based on the initial investigation, they believe the people involved in the incident knew each other,

Brevard County deputies said there is no threat to the public.

Deputies are investigating a shooting in unincorporated Cocoa, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said.

Units responded to the shooting in the afternoon at the Sunshine Mobile Home Park on Lake Drive.

According to a statement provided to Channel 9, a man was transported to the hospital.

Investigators have not said what the victim’s condition is at this time.

This is the third shooting in Brevard County in four days.
