Deputies say slain man's body found outside Orange County house

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was found dead outside an Orange County house Thursday morning and deputies are saying his death is a homicide.

Deputies said the body of
Kenneth Martin Folsom, 43, was found near the intersection of Nashville and 18th streets.

According to Orange County Sheriff's officials, deputies responded to the house just after 9 a.m. after receiving a call reporting the body.

Deputies said they received reports of shots fired in the area earlier in the morning.
"About 5 o’clock I heard about two shots made, that’s all," said area resident Arthur Fudge.

But, when they arrived, there were no victims or suspects in sight.

"We had many patrol units in this area for at least 10 minutes. They were scouring through these neighborhoods looking for anyone that might want to flag them down, might have information, and they couldn't find anyone," Jane Watrel of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

They said they were able to find Folsom after a person walking to work noticed his body lying on the side of the home. Investigators said he died from a gunshot wound.

"Are you surprised to see this sort of thing?" reporter Roy Ramos asked Fudge.

"Yeah, I hate to see this sort of thing in your neighborhood," said Fudge.
"Little surprising to see this sort of thing."

Deputies said no one was in the house when they arrived, and the victim does not live there.

"The person ran over to help them, and the person discovered that the person had been shot," said Watrel.

Sheriff's officials said Thursday's slaying is the 50th homicide in Orange County so far this year. By the same time last year, there had been 31 homicides in the county, officials said.

Detectives ask anyone who may have heard or seen something in the past 24 hours in the area of the 1400 block of 18th Street to please call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
