MARON COUNTY, Fla. — Marion County Major Crimes Detectives are searching for a man they said shot and killed his stepfather Friday.
Deputies described Sidney Ferguson, 19, as "armed and dangerous."
Emergency dispatchers received a report of a shooting just before 11 p.m. Friday at a home on SW 128th Street Road in Marion Oaks.
The first deputies on scene found the victim, Johnathon Thurman, in the front yard of the home with a gunshot wound.
He later died at the hospital.
Witnesses told investigators the two men were in an argument when Ferguson shot Thurman before leaving the scene.
Investigators said Ferguson drove away in a dark-colored sedan of an unknown make or model.
Anyone who sees Ferguson or knows where he may be is asked to call 911.
