FHP: Man lying in roadway hit by car in Volusia County

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers are investigating a fatal crash in Volusia County on Sunday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Ford Mustang was driving eastbound on Lemon Bluff Road just after 3:30 a.m when the driver swerved to avoid a man lying in the roadway.

Troopers said the Mustang then ran over the man who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said it appears that the victim, a 48-year-old man from Osteen, had been hit by another car earlier.
