FHP: Melbourne man killed in motorcycle crash in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash in St. Cloud Tuesday morning.

Troopers were called to the intersection of N. Narcoossee Rd. at Lake Park Ave. just before 9 a.m. for a crash involving a motorcycle and SUV.

FHP crash investigators say the driver of the SUV, identified only as a 55-year-old woman from St. Cloud, was at the stop sign in the eastbound lane of Lake Park Avenue waiting to make a left turn northbound onto Narcoossee Rd.

At the same time, troopers say the motorcycle rider, identified as a 45-year-old man from Melbourne, was traveling southbound on Narcoossee Rd. approaching Lake Park Ave.

According to FHP, the SUV driver attempted to make the left turn onto Narcoossee Rd., turning directly into the path of the motorcycle.

After the collision, the motorcycle rider was taken to Saint Cloud Advent Health Hospital and pronounced dead there. Troopers say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The woman driving the SUV wasn’t taken to the hospital and stayed on scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
