Florida back-to-school sales tax holiday: How you can save through Aug. 9

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida’s back-to-school sales tax holiday allows parents and students to save on school supplies before classes resume.

During the tax holiday, which runs through Aug. 9, shoppers can save on sales tax on purchases of certain clothing, school supplies, and personal computers.

Here’s what’s included:

• Purchases of clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $60 or less per item.

• Purchases of certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item.

• And the first $1,000 of the sales price of personal computers and certain computer-related accessories, when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.
