Florida deputies open fire on suspected cocaine dealers in Wendy's parking lot

RUSKIN, Fla. — Six Hillsborough County deputies opened fire on two suspected cocaine dealers after one pulled a gun on an undercover officer trying to purchase two ounces of the drug.

The suspects were injured in Tuesday evening's shootout in a Wendy's parking lot near Ruskin and were being treated at area hospitals. All six deputies involved fired their weapons, but it wasn't immediately known how many shots were fired or how many times the suspects were hit.

No deputies were injured. Hillsborough sheriff's Col. Donna Lusczynski said it was "truly a miracle" one of the deputies wasn't shot. Photos show four bullet holes in the car window of the door he was exiting.

One suspect was captured after a car chase. The other fled and was arrested after he arrived at a hospital for treatment.
