AAA said while both oil and gasoline prices rose last week, gas futures soared to a new record high.

“The increase is attributed to a combination of factors, including steady weekly declines in gasoline supplies and expectations that summer fuel demand will far outpace what we saw last year,” according to AAA’s Mark Jenkins.

Summer travelers can surely expect to feel the pinch on their wallets.

Compared to a year ago, they’ll pay an extra $1.32 per gallon.

Which means the $63 it costs to fill up an average-sized gas tank today — is about $20 more than this time last year.
