MIAMI, Fla. — Florida is launching a new program aimed at putting more emergency management professionals into the workforce—and Gov. Ron DeSantis announced its first rollout Thursday at Florida International University.
The Coalition for Operational Readiness in Education, known as CORE, will give students hands-on training, industry credentials and potential internships before they graduate.

“Maintaining that capability requires investing in the people who will dedicate their careers to helping our state prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters and other emergencies,” DeSantis said.
