Florida Lottery pays over 2 billion to education funds in fiscal year

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Lottery celebrated a milestone on Friday.

According to a release, a record amount of money went to education in 2021-2022.

The lottery paid $2.5 billion in sales to the educational enhancement trust funding. This is the second consecutive year that education contributions went over $2 billion in a fiscal year.

They also experienced a record $9.32 billion in sales for the most recent fiscal year.

Florida Lottery said the state is number one in the country in sales.
