ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported 5,520 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday.
This is a decrease from the 6,906 cases reported Saturday and the 7,121 added Friday.
Of the new cases reported Sunday, 870 were in Central Florida.

Of the new deaths reported, only one was in Central Florida. Several counties lowered these death totals since Saturday, including Lake County which reported seven fewer COVID-19 deaths.
This change typically happens as deaths are reclassified by state health officials when new data is processed.

COVID-19 vaccination efforts also continue across the state.
