Florida reports 5th straight day of fewer than 2,500 new COVID-19 cases

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported its fifth straight day of fewer than 2,500 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday.

The state added 2,338 new coronavirus cases.

Of those cases, 522 were reported in Central Florida.

The latest cases bring the total number in the state since the pandemic began to 2,318,480.

The state also reported 87 virus-related deaths on Thursday.

Of those deaths, 21 were reported in Central Florida, including eight in Brevard County.
