Florida Senate to vote on school voucher expansion bill

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Senate is poised to pass a measure Thursday that would make every student eligible for taxpayer-backed school vouchers.

The state House passed the proposal last week and the governor has promised to sign the bill.

Supporters of the bill claim it will create competition between schools and improve education.

However, opponents say it will use taxpayer dollars to fund private schools.
