ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida Ballet will celebrate the 25th anniversary of “A Christmas Nutcracker Tale” with live orchestral accompaniment for the first time.
The Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras’ Symphonic Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s score under the direction of Music Director Charles Watford.
The collaboration will bring more than 200 dancers and musicians to the stage, along with professional ballet artists from companies around the world.
“This partnership brings together professional ballet stars, local dancers and musicians to create something truly special,” Central Florida Ballet Artistic Director Vladimir Bykov said.
The performances also coincide with the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras’ 70th season.
“A Christmas Nutcracker Tale” features colorful costumes, aerial ballet and pyrotechnics as part of its reimagining of the holiday classic.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 19 and 20 at Steinmetz Hall inside the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
