Florida woman who fought off attacker at gym works to offer free self-defense classes

ORLANDO, Fla. — A Florida woman who fought off an attacker in the gym of her apartment complex is now partnering with a fitness studio to offer free self-defense classes.

Nashali Alma’s story made national headlines.

Alma is now teaming up with a self-defense coach, to offer free classes to teach women how to fight back.

“I was very proud of it just to be able to share my story and like I said, to inspire others, speak up fight back and never give up,” Alma said.

That self-defense coach said if this ever happens to you, be loud and yell at the attacker to back off and stop.

This will hopefully draw attention to the situation.

He also said when striking an attacker, aim for the face and the groin.

And he said to create space between you and the attacker and if you can break free, run away.
