Former high school coach pleads no contest to charges of inappropriate conduct with students

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A former high school baseball coach arrested for sexually assaulting multiple students will not spend any more time in jail.

Samuel Figueroa accepted a plea deal in an Osceola County courtroom on Monday.

The former Celebration High School coach pleaded no contest to three counts that will not force him to register as a sex offender.

They included two counts of unlawful use of a communication device and one count of child abuse.

In April, detectives accused Figueroa of sending inappropriate messages and touching multiple girls as young as 15.

They said they had video of him following one girl into a closet.

For his plea, Figueroa will spend 10 years on probation with a nighttime curfew.

He will not be allowed to move anywhere within 1,000 feet of where kids congregate, and can not work or volunteer there.

But due to his plea, he will not have to register as a sex offender.
