Former Fla. GOP chairman accuses party of trying to keep Democrats from voting

ORLANDO, Fla. — Former Florida Republican Party chairman Jim Greer said Republicans pushed for new election laws just to keep Democrats from voting.

Greer, who's from Oveido, said reducing early voting times wasn't done to curb voter fraud, but to help GOP candidates.

Greer is accused of stealing $200,000 from the party.

Former Gov. Charlie Crist is backing Greer's claims.

Crist, a former Republican, split from the party and ran for U.S. Senate without a party affiliation in 2010.
