FWC arrests man after finding pot plants on state land

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — Fish and Wildlife officials seized dozens of marijuana plants that they said a man was cultivating on state land.

An FWC officer found the grow site in the Richloam Wildlife Management Area in Sumter County.

It had maturing plants and a hand-dug well for watering.

Officers conducted surveillance to try and catch the grower, and said they eventually spotted Kenneth Wilson, 61, dropping off two five-gallon buckets with some new started plants.

The following morning, they said they saw Wilson returning to the site to tend to the plants.

The officers arrested Wilson and removed the plants from the site.
