Gov. DeSantis was the keynote speaker Saturday at an annual Orange County gala

ORLANDO ,Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis made a stop in Orlando Saturday night just a few days before he’s expected to officially announce he’s jumping into the presidential race.

The Governor was the keynote speaker at the annual Florida Family Council Gala at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. DeSantis touted the most recent legislative session and the multiple bills he signed into law.

During his speech, the Governor touched on families, schools, and parental protection. He said no other state has done as much as Florida.

“We rejected woke. Florida is where woke goes to die,” DeSantis said.

Sources close to the governor said he is expected to file paperwork with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) next week. The announcement is expected to be Wednesday online with a video a day before a donor meeting in Miami.

The expected announcement allows the governor to solicit donations while in Orlando.

During his speech, he didn’t drop any hints he was running for national office, but he did mention that his work was far from over.
