Workers rally against medical mandates on the Space Coast

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A workers rights rally against medical mandates was held Thursday on the Space Coast.

Hundreds of Space Coast employees showed up at 6 a.m. at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station south gate, behind Port Canaveral.

Organizers said aerospace workers, firefighters, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station workers, Kennedy Space Center workers and contractors gathered for a peaceful protest.

They said they “are standing up against medical mandates.”

Federal employees working on Florida’s Space Coast must be fully vaccinated by Nov. 22.

There is also a Dec. 8 deadline for thousands of employees of federal contractors, with few exceptions, to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
