Hundreds of Orlando businesses have closed for good due to Covid-19

ORLANDO, Fla. — Editor’s note: This story is available as a result of a content partnership between WFTV and the Orlando Business Journal.

Many Orlando businesses have been shuttered by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Central Florida saw 1,325 total business closures — both temporary and permanent — between March 1-July 10, according to Yelp's Q2 2020 Economic Average report. That includes 129 restaurants and 111 retail businesses in the region that have closed permanently.

As of July 10, 132,500 businesses across the nation closed due to the coronavirus, with 55% of those closures being permanent.
