Jacksonville neighbors fed up with frat house

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Residents of a Jacksonville neighborhood say their peace is being shattered by new neighbors: a fraternity house.

Residents say members of University of North Florida's Alpha Tau Omega fraternity have moved into their community, having parties until early morning hours.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded to a 911 call early Sunday morning from one partygoer requesting help.

Windsor Chase homeowners' association board member Richard Espaba tells the Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1tXg8TG ) the house in question is being leased to five members of the fraternity.

UNF fraternities do not have on-campus houses, and the school has no rules about where events can be held. Alpha Tau Omega is on academic probation because its members' collective GPA fell below 2.5.
