KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Kissimmee Police Department arrested one of its own officers Monday.
Officer Luis Perez was taken into custody after a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of making written threats against his ex-girlfriend.
Police say Perez also shares a child with the victim.
He’s been relieved of duty pending a criminal investigation into the allegations.
“The city of Kissimmee Police Department takes these matters seriously and always expects the agency members to remain professional,” spokeswoman Samantha Scarp said in a statement.
Citing the open, active nature of the investigation, the department declined to provide any additional information or comments on the case.
