LADY LAKE, Fla. — Lady Lake’s Christmas Parade will return Dec. 5 after a local business agreed to cover the entire event’s costs, reversing an earlier cancellation.

The town had canceled the parade because of budget constraints and expenses associated with public safety, staffing and road closures.

PARALIFE Financial, based in The Villages, has committed to fully sponsoring the parade, according to the town. Company representatives announced the support at Monday’s Town Commission meeting.

“We are so excited to step up to keep the tradition of the parade alive!” company representative Alisha Helseth said.

Parade details still to come

The parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5. The time, route and information about participating will be announced in the coming weeks.

Parks and Recreation Director Mike Burske said the sponsorship allows the town to continue a tradition that brings residents together.

“We are incredibly grateful to PARALIFE Financial for recognizing what this tradition means to our community,” Burske said.
