LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — The Lake County Animal Shelter is hosting a “Dolly Day” promotion today, offering adoption fees of $9.25 for all pets. The event runs from 1 to 6 p.m. at the shelter in Tavares, Fla.
The promotion joins nationwide celebrations honoring Dolly Parton’s legacy and her support for animals. In addition to visiting in person, residents can view available dogs and cats online through the county’s adoption portal.
Lake County Animal Services Director Whitney Boylston commented on the purpose of the event.
“Dolly Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy pets bring to our lives while giving shelter animals a chance at a forever home,” Boylston said.
The shelter is located at 12280 County Road 448 in Tavares.
