Lockdown lifted at Leesburg High School after report of person with gun near campus

LEESBURG, Fla. — Leesburg High School was placed on lockdown Friday morning after police said the school received an anonymous call reporting that someone had a gun near campus.

The lockdown was lifted by 11 a.m. after police found the call to be unfounded.

Officers said they swept the school, campus and nearby neighborhoods and found nothing threatening.
