CLERMONT, Fla. — A clerk was pistol-whipped during a robbery at a Clermont Circle K Thursday morning, investigators said.
Police said one person stood outside as a lookout while a man entered the store wearing a Halloween devil's mask, a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants. The masked man jumped the counter, put a gun to the clerk's head and demanded money from the register, video survelance of the incident shows.
The clerk did the right thing by not fighting back and giving the suspect the money, police said.
But that didn't disuade the man, who, after the clerk handed him the money, pistol-whipped her several times in the head and then fled on foot with his accomplice, police said.
The victim was taken to South Lake Hospital with minor injuries.
