ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man is behind bars Wednesday, charged in the shooting death of a hotel worker on International Drive.

Cedilien Forestal, 49, was found dead in his car on the employees' floor of the parking garage Tuesday.

A Forestal family attorney said they are getting little information about the case.

"The family is so distraught. They're just going through the motions of establishing the estate and the funeral arrangements," attorney Matt Morgan said.

According to an arrest affidavit, a witness heard gunshots inside the parking garage and ran toward the sound.

Dareus allegedly took a shooter's position and aimed at the witness. He didn't fire fire his gun, but got into a red Toyota and drove from the parking garage.

Deputies pulled Dareus over several blocks from the shooting scene. They said he had blood on his hands.

According to investigators, during questioning one of his hands tested positive for gunshot residue.

Dareus was reportedly wearing a bandana over his face as he escaped.

Investigators said he and the victim may have known each other.

"We have no information about the relationship between the victim and the primary suspect at this time. It has been suggested that they knew each other but that has not been conclusively proven," Morgan said.

Channel 9's Steve Barrett learned that Dareus has connections to the family of a drug kingpin in South Florida and that his wife mysteriously disappeared five years ago.
