Man pleads guilty in Titusville mosque vandalism

Michael Wolfe entered a guilty plea for damaging a Titusville mosque in 2016.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A man accused of breaking into an empty Titusville mosque and damaging property with a machete, as well as leaving raw bacon behind entered a guilty plea in federal court Tuesday.

Michael Scott Wolfe, 37, pleaded guilty to criminal mischief to a place of worship with a hate crime.

Wolfe was arrested in January 2016 when he vandalized the mosque after having had a few drinks, investigators said.

He was sentenced to 15 years in the Department of Corrections, followed by 15 years of probation with no return to the mosque, the state attorney’s office said.
