Marco Rubio campaigns at Kissimmee bakery

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Florida Sen. and Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio visited Melao Bakery Tuesday morning.

Rubio told supporters Central Florida is the key to his victory.

Rubio also mentioned Florida is a “make or break” state for his campaign and that he is concentrating on telling voters why he’s the only one who can beat front-runner Donald Trump.

“I truly believe American's greatest days lie ahead and we do what needs to be done in this election,” said Rubio.

Rubio visited the popular Puerto Rican restaurant and shook hands and met with residents. He said he felt compelled to reach out to Osceola County’s undecided voters to stress how critical their votes will be in his battle with Trump.

“Here in Florida if you vote for John Kasich or Ted Cruz, you are voting for Donald Trump. I am the only one that can beat him in Florida. I am the only one that can stop him here,” said Rubio.

Several voters told Eyewitness News they were impressed by Rubio.

Eyewitness News asked about recent reports that Rubio’s advisers called for him to drop out. Rubio said those reports were false, ridiculous and shameful journalism.

"When you run for president, it's hard, but being president is even harder. But if running for president is too hard, then you can't be president," Rubio said.

Rubio had an event in Sarasota during the day and will have a rally Tuesday night in St. John's County.
