SILVER SPRINGS, Fla. — Marion County Fire Rescue crews responded to a reported house fire yesterday at 7:55 p.m. near SE 162nd Terrace in Silver Springs.
Firefighters reached the scene at 7:58 p.m. and observed light smoke emanating from the single-family residence. They put out the fire by 8:02 p.m. using water cans.
No injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters at the scene. Fire crews remained at the home to perform overhaul operations.
Marion County Fire Rescue reached out to a chaplain and the American Red Cross to offer support to the family, ensuring they have the help and comfort they need during this difficult time.
The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
