Ocala gears up for annual Cattle Drive and Duck Derby

OCALA, Fla. — Dust off your cowboy hat and shine up your boots for Ocala’s Cattle Drive and Cowboy Round-Up.

The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will host the annual Cattle Drive and Cowboy Round-Up from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Feb. 11.

The cattle drive will start in downtown Ocala, near the intersection of Southeast Third Avenue and Southeast Eighth Street and will end at Tuscawilla Park.

The public is invited and encouraged to line the streets to watch the cowboys drive Florida cracker cattle through downtown Ocala.

The event will feature live entertainment, cowboy demonstrations, mechanical bull rides, a farm animal petting zoo, a kids’ corral with family-friendly games, antique tractors and trailers and more.

Also returning is the Marion Rotary Duck Derby, where the Rotary clubs of Marion County will race thousands of rubber ducks at 1 p.m. on Lake Tuscawilla.

Ducks are available for adoption now at www.duckrace.com/ocala.

The fundraising activity benefits the Discovery Center. The event is free to the public.
