Woman perishes in Ocala structure fire, Marion County first responders say

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A 46-year-old woman died in an Ocala structure fire Saturday, Marion County Fire Rescue said.

Marion County Fire Rescue said the fire on Cedar Trace Lane was under control around 8 a.m., 30 minutes after they responded to reports of a structure fire.

Multiple 911 callers said smoke and flames were coming from the house.

One neighbor tried to force their way into the single-family residence but was unable to.

Rolling Greens Rescue #528 was the first to arrive at the scene for immediate rescue and additional rescue engines arrived to help fight the fire.

In the initial search of the structure, the woman was found inside the home. No other additional findings were uncovered upon secondary searches.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
