Millions in FAA funding to be used for upgrades, improvements at Orlando International Airport

ORLANDO, Fla. — A new major investment would help Terminal C at Orlando International Airport handle even more visitors.

Rep. Darren Soto, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and others talked about the new funding at a news conference Monday.

Officials said $49 million of the money will go toward aircraft ramp systems. Another $20 million would be used for a pedestrian bridge project.

“With demand for air travel surging back, funding to improve the passenger experience has taken on even greater urgency,” Greater Orlando Aviation Authority CEO Kevin Thibault said.

The new funding is through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Terminal Program.
