OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — An Osceola County judge on Thursday declared a mistrial in the first-degree murder and burglary case against Victoria Rios, 19.
Jurors began deliberating on Wednesday and said Thursday that they couldn’t agree on a verdict.
Rios, who was 17 at the time, is accused of killing Eric Roopnarine, 15, in 2013.
Three others, Juan Muriel, David Damus, Konrad Schafer, were either found guilty or pleaded guilty in the case.
Schafer convinced his father to buy him a gun that was used to kill Roopnarine, investigators said.
Roopnarine was targeted after he posted photos on his Facebook page of cash from an insurance company after a car crash, investigators said.
The group convinced Roopnarine to pay Rios, who was his Facebook friend, for sex, then rob him.
She is not accused of hurting Roopnarine, but she let the group into the home to harm the victim, investigators said.
Damus was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison last year.
Schafer pleaded guilty to killing Roopnarine, as well as another murder of David Guerrero. He is serving a life sentence.
