Mobile dental unit in Osceola County will soon bring care to residents

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — People who have difficulty getting to the dentist’s office will soon have some help.

Leaders in Osceola County presented a $500,000 check to fund a new mobile dental unit.

It’s an investment that will use federal and county money.

Osceola County Commission Chairwoman Viviana Janer said she supports direct financial assistance for residents who need help with co-pays or for those who do not have insurance.

The mobile unit will provide dental care to those who cannot travel.

Organizers said the unit would help them reach about 300 seniors a year, including patients in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
