SEE: Heavy rain leads to high waters at Walt Disney World

ORLANDO, Fla. — A flood advisory is in effect for portions of Orange and Osceola counties until 11 p.m.

Up to 3 inches of rain has accumulated across southwest Orange County and northwest Osceola County, Channel 9 certified chief meteorologist Tom Terry said. The storm is moving east at 15 mph.

Terry said by 9 p.m. at least an inch of rain had accumulated north of Apopka in Northern Lake County and near Walt Disney World.

Social media videos began surfacing of rainwater accumulating in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Monday’s forecast called for scattered afternoon storms, similar to our summer pattern with a 40% chance of rain.

Channel 9 meteorologist George Waldenberger said the highest chance of rain will be between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. with up to an inch of rain expected in spots.

The daytime high in Orlando was 89 degrees.

The forecast will stay the same for the next several days.

On Saturday, we’ll get a front that will bring us cooler weather. We’ll have highs in the 60s on Saturday.

It could be our last cold front of the season.
